The Abernethy farm, or ranch, was located on the old Michel Framboise land claim, across the Willamette River from Champoeg. Oil on composition board, measuring 30 1/2 inches by 47 1/16 inches. Painted near the river boat landing, west of the Memorial House at Champoeg, Oregon. Signed by Gegoux and dated 1922.

Mr. Gegoux, I just purchased a sister to the Abernethy Farm painting you have listed. It is 18" x 35" signed T Gegoux and dated 1922. It's filthy with smoke film so I'll send you an image after I get Troy to clean it for me. I'm anxious to get him going on it as it appears to be a nice image but it's so dirty it's hard to appreciate it fully. I just bought it today so it may be awhile as Troy is quite busy right now but I will get you a image. I am a collector of Oregon art and was not familiar with his work but I'm quite pleased to get it. I have already located another possible purchase of a still life that I will also forward if I'm successful in acquiring it as well. Matt Wilder Salem, Oregon |
